LoVe It!!!

The weather that is---- I have been waiting for this weather- I can deal with a few rainy days and cooler nights but PLEASE have the afternoons like today!! lol Here are some garden pics when we first planted the seeds. We have never done seeds before, actually last year was the first year in gardening and we planted tomatoes, okra, squash, and cucs. This year we had a company come out from Instant Organic Gardening and build us a raised bed and hopefully with Jeremy;s craftiness he can make another for our summer crops. For early spring we have 4 different types of lettuce, spinach, carrots, broccoli, swiss chard, blueberries, and two different types of beans! The kids are so excited to see all the growth so far and I am having fun learning about gardening ( fyi- when planting seeds give plenty of room! lol we need to space our produce apart soon just don't know how small or how big they need to be for transplant!)

Also wanted to tell everyone I found this awesome site about once a month cooking- I have yet to do- on my calendar for end of this month, but check this site out OAMC. The purpose of this once a month is buying items through month that go on sale or match up with a coupon ( they match up what usually goes on sale- like March is frozen food month and seafood is usually priced good .....) then as the month get s to an end you pick a day for cooking they have recipes, instructions, supplies and you go to it! If at the end of the month you don't have things on sale its only a few items you may have to purchase or have already in pantry...... so cool !! I am going to try out this month and then have meals for April then April I may see if a group wants of gals want to go in and each have a recipe ( the blog even doubles, quadruples batches so you have PLENTY) and after a scheduled meet up date we exchange portions to eat in May, make sense ?and anyone game to trying this? I think these gals do it between the two of them but I will blog about my first time ( ewwwwww.. ok sorry but made me laugh!) They also have a baby section with great tips on making own baby food with produce that is fresh and on sale for the month and just a really cool easy to read blog! sorry so long ...... catch ya later:)

Thanks for the great info, I have food storage, menu planning and coupons on my mind lately. I am shopping for a freezer/second fridge. Have a good one, Jess.

I will so do it with you! I have other friends that do it too- but I know you're like me, picky about ingredients, I didn't want to do it with them because I want unenriched unbleached pastas, whole grains, etc. They use the cheap unhealthy stuff.
