But a few of you have ask about our school day and what it "looks" like-- well here ya go---- our school room though we do our work at the kitchen table:). I completely overhauled everything this year. I felt last year, while a lot of fun, was not very well organized and each child asking me "what do i do know?" was driving me CRAZY!!!
Found out about a program called workboxing by Sue Patrick and I can't say enough great things about this system! I have decided to do folders with files instead of boxes and still looking for something for Jaxs- may get a few boxes to keep his work in.... but this picture with the pink numbers ( I did each child with a specific color so little ones can know this color means YOU! lol) is what Emma's 1st day of school looked like. As she works through her "box" or subject she takes off the number matches it to the folder and then when done with all on card- she checks out of school ( white paper pic with all the kids names and pictures on it) We have centers cards some days where we pick a project or a file folder game to do and I have added things such as music practice, art, PE , and computer cards too. Cash has trays laid out each morning that has his activities to keep him busy and away from TV ( hes addicted!! :(!) and so far day 3 has been great! The only downfall I see is a little longer school days and a lot more prep work for me at night, but once I get a master list and can just fill folders quick and they get used to system think we will be off to a great start of 2009 school year! I am feeling much less overwhelmed with a 6th, 2nd, K, pre-k, and baby all under one roof too !! Have had some q's about curric too sent my way and been asked about extra activities we do but this will have to do for today off to fix snacks and feed a baby!!;)
ps- please be in prayer for us for this school year and for my new business ( working on website ...soon..soon - takes a while to work out all the details!!lol, but always check FB page I luv posting there more easier upload than the blog) I am going to dive into and trust God with this- yes i now u all think Im crazy but the joy I experience taking pictures can not be tuned out and while my family will come first, I feel like God is leading me down this path in yet another journey in my life!:) Can't wait to see what is to come!

Very cool school room and some really cool ideas for organizing and working through your day. I love the idea of "checking out of school". How very neat. Hope you all have a great start to your school year and a very successful one too!
that is so funny because one of my friends was talking to me about the workboxing idea yesterday...she is bringing me the book to church on sunday! (yes, i am thinking about homeschooling AGAIN!)
