Yesterday we were getting ready to have some water fun outside when I noticed a little bird under one of the chairs outside. It wasn't really moving but then I looked closer and saw it was a BABY bird that couldn't fly yet-- just as I was thinking Oh No BLACKIE ( our adopted pet lol) he came up and grabbed the baby bird! :( I shooed him away and he dropped it-- thank goodness that would have been bad news! After a look form Vet Julie ( Ha:)) baby bird looked ok and the kids LOVED looking and seeing him feed. I tried soo may places and no one would take him so we looked up online on how to care and he did great until early this morning-- we did read that when cats get birds they may not kill them but their mouths are ridden with germies so a baby bird needs a dose of antibiotics if it comes in contact with a cat ( or a dog who new??) and had no antibiotics around and no vet would help us :( So poor little guy didn't make it but he was soo cute and a great learning experience ( even though I have yet to tell kids his fate :(??? any suggestions....) I however WIL NOT miss waking every 30 min-1hr to feed our baby and that was only ONE night! lol Here are some cutie pics of our "baby" ........
